Here I am with the latest news!
I finally made it to Dubai but by the time I got there, it was already past midnight... again no sleep because I had to get up really early in the morning! So I had no time to prepare for the interview...
When I got there, I immediately met my fellow candidates. We started out with 48 in total. First there was a power point presentation about the airline itself and afterwards a written English test, a reach test to see if you could meet the required standards for the overhead compartments and then a short one-to-one interview.
This was the first part of the Assessment Day and of course followed by an elimination. A lot of people didn't make it, only 19 were selected for the second part, including me!
Then we had to give a presentation about one topic they gave us. We had only one minute to prepare and then we had to talk about that topic for one minute in group!
After this presentation, we were divided into 2 groups. They gave us a specific situation and we had to discuss it and find a solution in group.
And then again, another elimination... Only 9 remained for the last part, and I was one of them! ;-) We had a final interview and had to fill out official documents for the airline itself and for Immigration to obtain a Residence Visa!
SO I MADE IT!!!! :-)
Now I have to wait for the final approval of the Management after they review everything and after they contact my references! I will have the news probably by this evening and then a medical examination and a Security Clearance! Training takes 7 weeks with a 80% pass result. Every day a test!
I am so happy! It was a long way to go, from Belgium to Miami, from Miami back to Belgium and 2 days later to Dubai, no sleep what so ever and a lot of stress! But at the end, it was all worth it! The Assessment Day started at 11 am and I left at 9:30 pm! But I must say, I have enjoyed every minute of it, even made new friends.
I really would like to thank you for everything you've done for me, for all your help and advise! Even for the interview, it helped a lot! I was perfectly groomed, stockings, nailpolish, the whole nine yards! ;-) I felt confident because I knew that they would be impressed by the fact that I had done the preparatory training with you, Pan Am.
I am glad that the training will be more easy now because you've already taught us everything! I will think of you every step through training!
You are an awesome instructor, the best!!!
Best Regards,
Eveline, your Belgian student ;-)
Thank you very much for your encouraging words, it means a lot to me!!! Because of you, I'm starting a new chapter in my life. I never would have thought that I would make it this far in pursuing my dream!
Yesterday, I got some great news! I have received my employment offer!!! My documents are already approved by Immigration after just one week! Training begins November 16th! Still nervous and a bit anxious but on the other hand, I also feel strong because you gave me so much information and confidence! My entire Pan Am workbook is going with me as a guideline and most important, I will take you with me in my thoughts every step of the way!
Keep up the good work because you are a fantastic instructor and you have the ability to change people's life!
You rock!!! Seriously!!! :-)
I'll keep you posted,
Greetz, Eveline
