Pan Am International Flight Academy offers an Aviation English program with a full menu of ICAO compliant tests and courses at an affordable cost and at a time that is convenient for you. Courses are offered to individuals and groups and can be completed online and/or live, at your location or at our location in Miami, Florida.
• No time to attend classroom training? No problem. You can take the initial 15-minute language skills test over the telephone in conjunction with a 1-hour placement test that will tell you where to begin English training. If you score ICAO English language proficiency level 4, you will not need training.
• If you need training, you will complete an online 96-hour course for each level that you need in order to reach level 4. You would probably need only one or two courses. And, these courses are not on DVD or CD. These courses include your interaction. You actively participate in pilot-ATC related communication exercises and listen to your own voice and compare your voice to a native English speaker’s.
• After completing the courses you need, you will be able to take the aviation English certification examination which will determine your ICAO level.
• If you are part of an organization, you may also have an opportunity to practice using aviation English in a live classroom with other pilots and/or controllers after you have completed the online courses and before you take the English language certification examination.
• All course material in the program includes practice in all the speech acts that ICAO recommends you practice. These include communications in normal pilot/ATC operations as well as unusual pilot/ATC situations that could occur.
• Traditional, live, short courses in Aviation English are also offered in conjunction with other ATC or pilot training at Pan Am International Flight Academy.
• If you want your own staff of aviation English teachers to train your flight crews of controllers, we offer training to your staff to do that too.
