Boeing 747-400 PIC Reduced Certification, ATP/Type Rating, Part 61

This course is for crewmembers that have been previously trained and qualified as a Pilot on the B747-400 aircraft, with a minimum of 250 hours logged in aircraft type. The course provides the crewmember with the necessary knowledge and skills to obtain a B747-400 Type Rating.


Prerequisites:

  • The crewmember must have been serving as a B-747-400 active crew member within the last 59 months
  • Minimum of 250 hours in type
  • Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi Engine Land,
  • Instrument Rating, ATP written; or hold an ATP
  • Meets the requirements of Part 61

Course Duration: Approximately 15 Days
Classroom Instruction: 16:00 Hours
Simulator/Flight Training: Paired: 12:00 Hours PF, 12:00 Hours PM, or train to proficiency, 02:00 Hours LOFT (Each Pilot). Non Paired: 18:00 Hours PF, or train to proficiency, 02:00 Hours LOFT

Boeing 747-400 PIC Recurrent, Part 61.58

This course is to ensure that a PIC crewmember is adequately trained and currently proficient with respect to the B747-400 aircraft.  The course is applicable to previously trained and qualified PIC crewmembers on the B747-400 aircraft.

  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with a B747-400 Type Rating

B747-400 PIC INITIAL TRAINING

This core curriculum is the approved course of training which leads to a type rating in the B747-400 aircraft and is also the approved course of training for those pilots that meet the Air Transport Pilot (ATP) requirements of 14 CFR Part 61 to obtain an ATP certificate. Trainees must successfully complete the applicable B747-400 Ground Training curriculum segments, before proceeding to the Flight Training curriculum segments.

 

Prerequisites:

If the trainee holds an Airline Transport Pilot or Commercial Pilot certificate with a "Limited to Centerline Thrust Restriction", he/she must complete a Centerline Thrust Limitation Removal Specialty Course prior to enrolling in this curriculum. If the trainee is seeking an ATP certificate with a B747-400 type rating, he/she must be holder of a Commercial Pilot certificate with Multiengine Land and Instrument ratings. If the applicant is seeking only an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, he/she must be holder of a Commercial Pilot certificate with Multiengine Land and Instrument ratings and an unrestricted B747-400 type rating.

B747-400 PIC REDUCED TRAINING

B747-400 SIC INITIAL TRAINING

PAIFA’s B747-400 Aircraft Initial Ground Training objective is to provide flight crewmembers with the necessary knowledge for understanding the basic functions of aircraft systems, the use of the individual system components, the integration of aircraft systems and operational procedures. Trainees must successfully complete the applicable B747-400 Ground Training curriculum segments before proceeding to the Flight Training curriculum segments.   

Prerequisites: 

If the trainee holds a Certificate with a “Limited to Centerline Thrust Restriction”, he/she must complete the Centerline Thrust Limitation Specialty Course to remove this restriction. 

The crewmember must hold a Private Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine Land and Instrument Rating.
