Pan Am Combines EASA and FAA Type Rating Program

Miami – November 24, 2015

Pan Am International Flight Academy and parent company ANA Holdings (collectively “Pan Am”) is offering a combined training program for pilots seeking to earn both an EASA type rating along with the matching FAA type rating concurrently, at their Miami Training Center and World Headquarters. Airline customers and Pilots attending the recently completed European Airline Training Symposium (EASA) held in Warsaw Poland identified this unique training option as an advantage over separate training sessions costing additional time and money. Currently, Pan Am is the only training organization in the world capable of providing this combined training on a wide range of commercial jet fleet types.

Miguel Martin, Pan Am’s Senior Examiner of EASA Training states: “Because of our experience and training capabilities, we’re finding more and more airline pilots coming to us for combined EASA / FAA type ratings for a variety of reasons including to be more marketable. We see a lot of pilots from the Mediterranean region, particularly Turkey who take advantage and enjoy training here in the U.S. over staying there.” Martin concludes: “And as our customers look around, they conclude our combined program is also very cost effective compared to other options they’ve considered.”

The combined type EASA / FAA course is for crewmembers that have been previously trained and qualified as a Pilot with a minimum of 250 hours logged in aircraft type. The course provides the crewmember with the necessary knowledge and skills to obtain the combined Type Rating with a commercial instrument rating as well.

Besides the ever popular A-320 and B 737 ratings, Pan offers a comprehensive list of other fleet types including: B707, B727, B737, B747, B757, B767, B777, MD-80, DC-9, DC-8, Saab 340, MD-11, DC-10, A300, A320, A330, A340, CRJ-200, CRJ-700 / 900, EMB-170, EMB-190, Cessna Caravan.

Pan Am International Flight Academy, headquartered in Miami, FL, has its origins in Pan American World Airways as its original training division, and operates under one of the most recognized brands in the world. The company provides flight simulation and training on nearly all major aircraft types with over 200 professional training programs and instructors training on over 50 full flight simulators.
